"My relationship with God is not absolutely right because there is no absolute right way to have a relationship with a living, dynamic and wildly creative God. My filters limit my perception of Him and His divine nature . . . More importantly, every Christ follower is not required to practice their faith the way that I do."
Are you right? Can you be right? Is this idea relativistic or is it truth? Read the full article at http://www.theooze.com/articles/article.cfm?id=848

I read the article but not that closely. If we are made in the "image" of God then the reverse is also true (ie: God is the same as our "image") Thus it follows that our relationship to God is no worse or better than a relationship to any living, dynamic and wildly creative creature. If you want a serious answer our Bettors control the middle 2/3rds of humanity (middle class) through economics, organized religion, and opinion. There is nothing that prevents us from having God as a personal friend and to talk to him / her directly without intermediaries. If you want to take it a step further and give God first "dibs" just remember it doesn't automatically mean a nice house, riches, and lots of "neat" friends. It also means that you might be called upon to put some sweat equity into the relationship through the use of your brain with a lot of hard thinking and questioning. God also thinks long term and doesn't necessarily tell you what he / she is up to long term. This is where "faith" comes in. In conclusion I don't want to mess with your mind so if my comments are messing with your mind just ignore them because I could be out to lunch.
Hi there Alex. Welcome to Faces. :)
I would have to disagree with you because, while we are made in the image of God, we are fallen creatures. For that reason, we are in need of an "intermediary" - Jesus Christ - to reach God, because we cannot in our sinful state.
Having a relationship with God is diametrically different from having a relationship with another man. God is infinite, holy, transcendent, omnipresent, sovereign, all-loving - and we are finite creatures.
However, there are a lot of parallels between our relationships with people and our relationships with God. God designed it to be that way.
Let me know if I'm making sense. Thanks for your comments. God bless.
