Well, it feels like the summer is finally starting to wind doown! Thursday I finished my last class of Spanish. It was a fun class, because we had student presentations. Mis companeros went all out, bringing photos, food, and music. It was one of the most entertaining classes I've been in (and much more informal than anything I've experienced at PHC - of course, I've never had Mr. Doyle).
Then, on Friday, I had my last doctors appointment! This is definitely cause for rejoicing. I am happy that I am well on my way to being healthy. I also finished That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis this week, thus finishing reading the Space Trilogy. I'm glad I went through them. There are some deep truths in those books. I think I like Tolkien's trilogy better, probably just because I like epics and I feel more comfortable with fantasy than with science fiction. But Lewis is always a good read.
Now I'm finishing up my remaining Lewis books I got from the library (Letters to Malcom, Chiefly on Prayer and Reflections on the Psalms). I also have the Simarillion by Tolkien out, and I'm not sure if I'm going to read it (this summer) or not. I'll probably try to before I get back to school.
The two other projects left this summer are getting my driving license and registering to vote.
On movies: I watched the Matrix for the first time last week. Wow! Talk about an awesome movie. I loved the kung fu scenes, especially those with Trinity. There are a lot of philosophical implications in that movie. I feel like I need to watch it again just to grasp it all.
I also saw the movie Rudy, which I think all of us PHC'ers need to watch when we're back in school. It is about a guy who is determined to go to Notre Dame and play football; however, all the odds are against him. It is one of the most encouraging movies I've ever seen.
20 more days, PHC!

First time. First movie.
You know, the Matrix has long been one of my favorite movies. I have actually spoken with a few others who still haven't seen it. I guess some refuse to watch it because of their convictions in the Lord. Why did it take you so long to see it?
